A Fault Detection and Isolation Filter for
Discrete-Time Linear Systems with Disturbances

Abstract

In this paper, a method for designing a failure detection filter
for discrete-time linear systems submitted to an external
perturbation is presented.  Under a fundamental condition of
failures separability and external disturbance, the method
based-on the generalization of the Luenberger observer allows
one complete assignability of the error dynamics leading to an
asymptotically stable closed-loop system.  In addition, the
separability of failures and the rejection of the unknown
disturbance is achieved.
