Biography

I received the Diploma of Engineer in Automation and Computers from Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania, in 1989 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University at Kingston in 1996. After a postdoctoral stage at the National Research Council in Ottawa and four years of working in the industry, I joined University of Toronto in August 2002.

My research is focused on joining game theory, optimization and control with networks. My group has made contributions to algorithms for optical networks and for energy efficient networks, either in communication or in transportation. Currently I work on mathematical frameworks for learning in games developed from a system control perspective. The goal is to realize intelligent multi-agent networks that autonomously self-optimize.
